What to expect on Sunday mornings at HBC...

Heritage is pretty casual on Sunday mornings.  We want you to feel at home with us.

Whether you attend the Classic (9:00 AM) worship service with a musical blend of hymns and worship choruses, or the upbeat sound of the second Contemporary (10:45 AM) worship service, you can have an encounter with God and feel welcomed at HBC.  There are Bible classes for all ages, adults and kids, at both time frames each week. Pastor Dave offers a similar message at both services.

Nursery and childcare are available at both worship service times. Look for the signs on campus to direct you to the Nursery or ask someone.  Kids attend a worship tailored for them in the "Frog Pond" and attend Sunday morning Bible classes. They might also play outdoors on the playground, so they can dress casual and comfortable too.

High school and Junior high youth tend to gravitate to the 9:00 AM hour for Sunday Bible study and then attend the Contemporary Worship afterward. On the first Sunday of each month, youth will often retreat to the nearby Jack in the Box restaurant nearby with Pastor Joe for fellowship. Be sure to bring a couple of dollars for breakfast or a snack.

Dress is casual and comfortable. Pastor Dave does not wear a tie and you don't need to feel obligated to dress up. We are happy to welcome you no matter what you wear.

Between worship services, we offer coffee, snacks, and juice.  This is a good time to get acquainted with someone, sit on the patio and enjoy the beautiful mornings we often have in Bakersfield, or find out what classes you or your children might want to attend. The 30 minute coffee break that begins at 10:15 AM is our chance to catch up with friends and family who might attend the opposite worship service or teach a Sunday Bible class for adults or kids.  Be sure to take part and let us meet you!

Bring your own Bible or find one in the book racks in the auditorium seating (beneath your seat or grab the one below the chair in front of you) and use it. If you don't have a Bible to read at home, pick one up at the Guest Table near the foyer entrance.
